About Me

“Watch your thoughts, they become words;
watch your words, they become actions;
watch your actions, they become habits;
watch your habits, they become character;
watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
― Frank Outlaw

My name is Justine Drake, I am a student at Drake University studying Public Relations and Digital Media Productions with a Concentration in Leadership Education and Development.

I have lived the majority of my life in Glen Ellyn, Illinois where I attended Glenbard South High School. I was involved in many athletics as well as organizations. The organization that made the greatest impact on my life was Reality Illinois. Reality Illinois is the Teen Advisory Panel to the DuPage County Health Department which is made up of high school volunteers who take the initiative to improve the health of their communities. Reality Illinois is committed to promoting wellness and preventing the use of tobacco. Through Reality Illinois I was able to make policy changes in my community and surrounding communities to prevent tobacco use. I, alongside our team was able to reduce the use of tobacco in our communities by restricting the use of tobacco in certain areas as well as raise the legal purchasing age of tobacco to age 21 instead of 18 (Tobacco 21).

What I Want To Do

With my Public Relations and Digital Media degrees I would like to work for an ethical company/organization that benefits, helps, and makes people happy. I have a particular interest in and passion for the work children’s hospitals do as well as organic food companies.

My Mission

Do the right thing for the right reasons.
